In major injury news overnight Rio Ferdinand (England) and Didier Drogba (Cote d'Ivoire) now look like they will both miss the 2010 tournament.
Drogba fractured his arm in a friendly while Ferdinand injured his knee at training. England will now need to find a new captain for the squad, a position previously held by Ferdinand.
UPDATE - Steven Gerrard (Liverpool) will take over as England captain in the absence of Ferdinand.
